Replay Video Recorder
Manufacturer: Replay Video Capture

If you are going to need to record a live or archived video stream, this is the only way to go, record the stream data and not from the screen. Your browser can be closed and the data is still being recorded.

Uses would include games or animations. Using a screen recorder to capture streaming video creates very large files. Screen recorders are meant to capture what you are doing with your mouse or keyboard.

When you start up Replay, it is watching for the incoming data stream from the streaming server not the screen. Even if you were to close the browser, the data is still being recorded.

Here is are some examples when you would use Replay. You see a movie clip on the net and only want to record a portion of movie.

YouTube -

News Archives - 60 Minutes

Summary:
To record video off you internet do not use products like Camtasia Studio, DemoBuilder or Captivate. These products will produce extremely huge files. You need to record the data streaming in and not a series of screen frames. The data contains the frames already.
